Well. Once again I’m back. Without pictures. T.T Partly because I’m LAZY… well another is I can’t seem to get my hands on pictures… I shall try very hard. But then, for now, it’ll be another all words post. =D
Hmm, I’m gonna talk about my leadership camp~! Happened last friday, 29th of September. For 3 days and 2 nights, from Friday to Sunday. It was.. quite a waste of time. Some activities are enjoyable, some are rather boring and meaningless.
To begin with, we arrived at Trolak Country Resort, Perak on Friday in the evening, had our briefings and several indoor activities and then we checked-in. We were told to prepare for our night activities. Wow. Interesting. After dinner, we were given briefing on our activities that night, Night Walk and Solo Drop.
We’re suppose to walk in the jungle at night guided only by a rope. With at least 4-5 minutes distance away from each other.
Yeap. Sounds scary, sort of. In the Forest, konon. Oh well. We headed towards the forest, following the guide. Lined up and counted numbers. Off we go. The Night Walk was quite freaky cuz I can’t see NUTS. It was pitch black and I can see nothing except my hands and the rope I was holding. I hasten my pace and *ufff* i bumped into some soft thingy that said “ouch”. I was quite freaked out at first.. but i found out it was actually Crystle.. my fren that walked b4 me. Wow. I walked THAT fast? Anyway, so we walked together and reached the end. And we waited till the others came. Off we go for the Solo Drop.
Solo Drop. We’re walking and suddenly the guide asked me to stop. I stopped and they walked off. AGAIN. It’s pitch black and all I see are silhouettes of the plants around me, and some glowing leaves on the floor. Ohh but there were a LOT of noise. Cars driving pass using the highway located behind me [the forest] and trains that went through and aeroplanes that flew pass. I was wondering if I were in the forest. The sound the insects made reassured me that, though. Anyway, I stood there for a while, fearing if people will forget me and not pick me up. XD That’s for the first 5 minutes.
Then I started counting seconds “1 mississipi, 2 mississipi” for another 10 minutes. I started to feel bored. I squat down and thought of stuff, my life/studies/watever craps. Then I sat down on the floor [I couldn't care less about leeches or any asses anymore] and I slept.
Or rather, took a nap. Well, for all I can care, I was in the forest for 1hour ++ already. Suddenly, Crystle called out to me. OMG, she was just 6 steps towards my right. We both took 3 steps into the middle, squat down, and talked. Until she say “hey I think they’re coming” we both walked back [in the dark, i counted 3 steps, i couldn't see anything =D] to our original position and waited. When the Guide with the torchlight came over, I was shocked to find out Karina, another fren, is just around 5 steps to my left. And we all can’t see each other because it was a helluva piece of DARK paint all around.
After all of those, we were back in the Resort. It was 1am ++. I was in the same room as 3 gals, Crystle, Karina and Joyie. So they ALL took 1 hour to bath [in total, phew] I only get to bath at 2am T.T Hahaha. Anyway, I was in the same room as them because most of my guy frens had been chosen to… the other camp =.= Sienzzzz. Made new frens though, quite happy. =D
Anyway. We were eating cup maggi mees and snacks and gossiping like crap until like 4am before WE ALL slept. Oh wait. The gals slept.. Joshua and Leonard came over and we were talking about DotA until 5am~! Then they went off and I went to sleep. Guess what. We’re suppose to wake up at 6am =)
I DID wake up at 6. or Rather, I woke up at 5.45am And prepared. =D BUT, the morning jog was cancelled due to VERY VERY VERY HEAVY RAIN. =D Phew. No need to jog. We sit at the hall until 7am and had our breakfast. We all then head back to our rooms. Next meeting is at 8.30am =D Great. This morning, Saturday morning. We have our BlindFold thingy.
BUT, the instructors of the course SWAPPED the maps between groups.
DAMN~! We’re suppose to use other group’s MAP~! OMG OMG OMG~! Well, WE ALL FAILED T.T
I was so close to winning. I was just 8-10 steps away from the 5th Station [The Starting Point]. Oh well, at least it was quite fun. Banging into groups of people. Heading the totally wrong way. It was a fun experience. Walking like the Blinded ones. =D
After that, we were brought to the forest again. We’re suppose to complete 2 Obstacle stuff, Low Ropes and High Ropes.
Ropes Obstacles which are 6ft from the ground. This is quite tiring. Not to mention it is long, it needs a lot of strength and stamina to complete it. I’m glad I did it all. Succesfully and Smoothly. WITHOUT Falling at all. My achievement woeh~! =D
First one is holding 2 cables by the side and walking across, this one is quite simple.
Second one is QUITE simple. Holding ropes hanging down from the cable above and walk across a rope. But this one freaked me out cuz the 2 Guides on the platforms were INTENTIONALLY shaking BOTH the rope i’m standing AND the rope i was holding. DAMN THEM~! Although it was quite freaky, I’m glad to say I have SUCCESFULLY conquered [a bit lah] my fear of heights. Astonishing.
The third wan was like so simple. Just walk across.
The last wan was AWESOME. It is the Flying Fox. It was SO SO SO nice. Just gliding down towards the net. With the wind banging onto my face and body. Such feeling, MARVELOUS =D
WE broke the record of complete this 2 stuffs. “ApPlAuSe” And we can have BBQ Dinner with the other Camp people~! YESH~!!!!! The BBQ was quite sucky, but the great thing is we get to meet with our frens from the other camp. HooRay~! There was suppose to be a Presentation at night, we had an “arguement” with the Lecturer and skipped it. We had cherade instead. It wasn’t THAT exciting but it was quite fun. And relieve no skit to present =D
That night, we were given free time. Larissa and Rachel came to our room and we had nice gossips. Matthew came after and we were HAPPY talking bout “Ahem”. Ohkay, that’s our secret, better not reveal here. =D Anyway, Crystle and Karina went to sleep early, So Joyie and I went to Matthew, Larissa and Rachel’s room to chat. But we ALL fell asleep. Too tired. Joyie cannot go back to our room cuz I was having the key, and was FAST ASLEEP =D
Oh well. The next morning, we woke up. And we had some indoor activites. Erm.. “Activities” just some discussion and we then head back to HELP in the Afternoon =D Ah, The trip ends.
I’ve benefit from it :
1) Made new Frens.
2) Learn to Speak stuff out.
3) Conquer my fear of height. [15 ft =D]
4) Learned that camps with solo drops wastes time.
5) A BIT of Leadership Skills.
6) Had fun =D
Yeap. With that said. I had some fun. Although it was sort of waste of time. =D That’s about all I have to tell about my camp. It was enjoyable to a certain extend. =D Oh I nearly forgotten….
We were “left alone” in the forest for 1 and 1/2 hour. That long. So bored. XD
And I’m watching Digimon Frontier [Digimon 04].
Call me Childish… I’m just an Innocent and Cute Teenager =D
