EduTrip Trilogy: Day 1 | 教育旅行三部曲：第一天

As my last post had said, I went to ipoh and penang a couple of days ago! So im gonna post something on the first day! The first day, we all went to Ipoh to visit HALF WAY HOME and to eat our lunch! Half Way Home is actually a home for mental patients who have recovered, supposedly, and train to work in the society.

Actually, we were to go to Hospital Bahagia, and mental hospital for mental patients, but there was some problem which happened and thus we weren’t able to go there on that day. However, we did go there 2 day after. But i’ll talk about that in another post! ^^

So basically, on the first day, we departed from HELP University College and then reach Ipoh, have our lunch and we head on straight to Half Way Home. Finally, we departed to Penang at night! We checked into YMCA and then we had our dinner at Gurney’s Drive! That night’s dinner was awesome! We all ordered separate things and then share our food. It was heaven man! =P That was almost our journey! These are the pictures for Day One! ^^

我之前的帖子就说了，我前几天到了怡保和槟城哦！那么我今天就要说一些第一天的旅程了！第一天呢，我们到了怡保吃东西，还到了一个叫Half Way Home的地方哦！Half Way Home其实是一个给一些痊愈了的精神病患者可以尝试联练习在‘社会’工作的地方。

其实，那一天我们是也要去Hospital Bahagia的。。是一个专收留精神病人的医院，但是由于有一些问题我们不能去。但是我们在2天后就可以去了！不过那个呢下一次再讲~！︿︿

总而言之，第一天呢，我们从ＨＥＬＰ大学离开了之后，到达了怡保，吃了午餐后，就直接去Ｈａｌｆ　Ｗａｙ　Ｈｏｍｅ了。晚上我们就直接去槟城了！我们登入了ＹＭＣＡ之后，就去Ｇｕｒｎｅｙ＇ｓ　Ｄｒｉｖｅ享用我们晚餐哦！我们那一天的晚餐很丰富！我们各自交了不同的东西一起ｓｈａｒｅ着吃！太好吃了！=P 那就大概是我们的行程了！　这些就是第一天的照片哦！^^

I’m heading off to Ipoh tmr! And on the night itself I’m heading towards Penang till thursday! It is an educational trip with my college mates! I’m one of the committee! ^^

This post is just to announce and inform my readers~ if I have any, that I won’t be contactable in this 3 days! Except via HANDPHONE! So.. await my return! With wonderful journey stories! ^^

我明天下怡保咯！然后当天晚上就下槟城了，一直到星期四！是一个教育的旅行，跟大学同学一起去的！我也是委员之一哦！^^

Frustration | 懊恼

She’s making me frustrated. What’s wrong with staying overnight in my friend’s house? So unreasonable.

There’s nothing wrong with having an overnight. It is just to simplify my life, her life and simplify the whole process. I am pretty angry at this. It is not the first time. There’s no point talking sense into her. Fed Up.

实在让我懊恼。在朋友家过夜有什么问题？无理到极点。

明明过夜就没有什么问题。反而能简化我和她的生活，简化整个问题。我真的很生气。已经不是第一次了。根本不能跟她说道理。厌倦。

Hey guys~ I’m trying to do this new system, called the “Bilingual Post” system, where I type a blog post in both English and Mandarin~! =) This is to ensure both english- and chinese-literate friends can read my blog posts! So i hope this will work out! ^^

Today i had my presentation, and it was pretty much fine actually. I thought the game was boring, but my friends say its fine. So, oh well, dunnid to think so much first. Haha. I done all my assignments dy, and tmr’s the due date! So happy~ so free and relax today! ^^ Exam’s next week though. Must start studying dy, but there’s so many things to do leh!

One good news! I got an email from PSG [Peer Support Group] that i was nominated to be one of the probationary committee for PSG! So happy ^^ Interview should be on this friday and… yeap! Hopefully everything will go well! ^^ That’s all for today! Feel like maintaining a habit of blogging very often, though i’ve said that alot of times. Haha! =P

Pack The Floor For 24 Dance Marathon – Coming Your Way

I have mentioned in my last blog post that there is this dance marathon coming up in your way, right? So if you guys just did not visit that link, I’m gonna explain this thing fully in this blogpost, so you can be interested.

Dance Marathon

‘Pack the Floor for 24’ is a fund-raising event that culminates with a 24 hour dance marathon in January 2008 for children with AIDS in Malaysia. An expected turnout of 600 individuals from various learning institutions and dance academies will dance for the children from 12 January 2008 to 13 January 2008 in the Securities Commission Conference Hall in Mont Kiara.

About Us

The Vision of a Better Tomorrow

We, the organizing committee, had only one thing in our minds: charity. In tandem with HELP University College’s educational and corporate philosophies which are “to be significant” and “to be compassionate”, we wanted to successfully execute an event that would directly aid the less fortunate. It all started from a wild idea of doing a dance marathon, inspired by the hit drama series Gilmore Girls. As possibilities began to turn into realities, ‘Pack the Floor for 24’ was born!

Soon, the idea of pumping the proceeds of this large scale event to HIV affected children around Malaysia was suggested and agreed upon. In line with this effort, we hope that by organising this ground- breaking charity event, we will be able to build awareness among the young people of Malaysia about the need to acknowledge the battles of children suffering from AIDS and the importance of HIV education and testing. Most importantly, we want to encourage young people to make a difference in halting the spread of this critical, preventable disease. Hope is something we can spread!

With this ambition in mind, we hope that we can spur our community to play an active role in charity work. Join us and do YOUR part! Any form of support will play a significant role in ensuring this event becomes a success.

Why Dancing?

Dancing is universal. Anybody can dance, from a senior citizen to a small child. We hope to connect people from all walks of life and ages through the phenomenon of dancing while conveying the vital message our event carries: the importance of charity for the future of Malaysia.

With this dance marathon, the participants will be encouraged to dance for a worthy cause. Everyone is involved. Every individual can make an impact. Make a difference in our increasingly self-absorbed world today.

Let’s dance our hearts out for the kids!

Objectives

• To raise awareness among the young people of Malaysia about the need to acknowledge the battles of children suffering from AIDS

• To stress on the importance of HIV education and testing

• To educate young people on how to make a difference in halting the spread of this critical, preventable disease

• To unite people from all walks of life and ages by the universal importance of charity work

You can register to be one of these:

Dancer, Performer, Moraler or Volunteer!

Dancer : stay up and dance the night and day! Become and participant with an amount of Rm35 minimum, or more for Charity!

Performer : perform for the event! singing,dancing, group dances!! Make the party even more alive!

Moraler : cheer on the fellow dancers! Motivate them to keep them going on for the 24 hours!

Volunteer : help out with us organizing the event! We participate in the tasks of our own committee such as publicity, programmes and many many more!

Corporate Relations

As a nonprofit student organization, Dance Marathon at HELP is run completely on a volunteer basis where 100% of all monetary contributions and proceeds are donated directly to our beneficiaries. Thus, corporate support is the foundation of our growth and success

Another Beginning

After a long duration of consideration, I have finally decide to try and use WordPress.
